This event was recorded, listen to the podcast: Human Rights and Climate Change (in Dutch);
As part of our new lecture series “HumanRights@DeKrook”, the Human Rights Centre invites you to a public talk about Climate Change and Human Rights. This event takes place on the occasion of the publication of the September edition of “Tijdschrift voor Mensenrechten”, a thematic issue on Climate Change and Human Rights. The issue focuses on the potential and limitations of human rights in addressing the causes of climate change (such as climate change litigation), in mitigating the consequences of climate change (such as climate displacement) or in protecting climate change activists.
The panelists for this event are Kati Verstrepen (President of the Belgian Liga voor Mensenrechten) and Valerie Del Re (Director of Greenpeace België), who will reflect on this issue on the basis of their professional experience. The event is moderated by Dr. Laurens Lavrysen (HRC-member and editor-in-chief of “Tijdschrift voor Mensenrechten).
More information about this event can be found on the webpage of De Krook Café.
