JEAN MONNET MODULE ‘On-line UGent Academy for Ukrainian Lecturers: EU Law and Policy’
We are thrilled to announce that UGent has been awarded a three-years (2022/25) grant to implement the Jean Monnet Module ‘On-line UGent Academy for Ukrainian Lecturers: EU Law and Policy’ (UGent_ACADEMY4UA).
The project seeks to promote excellence in teaching and researching in the field of EU law and policy in Ukraine. Its ambition is to educate a new generation of Ukrainian lecturers who will pass their knowledge on EU law and policy to Ukrainian students. The course has been designed in consultation with the project’s target group – lecturers and researchers from different regions and universities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, Dnipro) to tailor their academic needs. In addition, UGent_ACADEMY4UA will serve as a tool of academic diplomacy, promoting European values and knowledge about the EU among those whose current professional activity is to educate students in Ukraine.
The project’s team includes members of Ghent European Law Institute (GELI), Ghent Institute for International and European Studies (GESI) and the Human Rights Centre. UGent_ACADEMY4UA will be managed by EU Law Professor Dr. Peter Van Elsuwege (promoter) and Dr. Alina Cherviatsova, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow (coordinator).
