The aim of the project is to analyze the various modalities of victim participation in international and locally supported transitional justice processes in Guatemala and their implications on different groups of victims. By conducting a mixed method research through field work with local communities and relevant actors, the findings could shed light not only on the benefits and shortcomings of participation, but also about the way victims understand and experience these processes at the individual and collective level. The significance of the project relies on its potential to develop a study that could be useful to relevant stakeholders to design implement and monitor legitimate interventions that take into account victims needs and perspectives.
