Ana Luz Manzano Ortiz (she/her) is a doctoral researcher within the Migration Law Research Group (MigrLaw) and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) at Ghent University. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (México) and a LLM degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (The Netherlands). She has worked as a migration and asylum lawyer in Mexico in various NGOs and in the public sector.
Her research within the Global Migration Justice: Beyond conflicting approaches to migration in international human rights law – MIGJUST project explores the pro homine approach of the Inter-American System of Human Rights, as part of a larger comparative analysis of the European, African and UN case law in the field of migration
