Genaro Andres Manrique Giacomán is a PhD researcher within the Human Rights Centre at Ghent University specialized on International Human Rights Law. His research focuses on the evidence regime of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, as part of the ERC-funded project “DISSECT: Evidence in International Human Rights Adjudication”, under the supervision of Professor Marie-Bénédicte Dembour.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from University of New Brunswick (Canada, 2018) and a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana Torreón (Mexico, 2015).
Before joining the Human Rights Centre at Ghent University, he worked in academia, coordinating the Bachelor of Law and the Human Rights Program at Universidad Iberoamericana Torreon in Mexico (2018-2020). From 2016 to 2019 he coached and trained Universidad Iberoamericana Torreon’s team for the Inter-American Moot Court Competition.
