Jafar Soleimani Fard is a doctoral researcher at Ghent University and a member of the Human Rights Centre. His research focuses on human rights, women’s rights, the right to health, constitutional law, and the relationship between international human rights standards and diverse social and political contexts.
His doctoral research examines Afghan women’s right to health under Taliban rule through feminist and postcolonial approaches to human rights. The project explores the relationship between universality, gender equality, and the historical and structural conditions shaping the realization of women’s rights in Afghanistan.
Jafar holds a Master’s degree in European and Global Studies from the University of Padova, where he researched the protection of privacy and personal data under the European Convention on Human Rights and European Union law. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Maragheh.
