Kim Baudewijns is a PhD researcher at the Human Rights Centre. In her empirical research in Eastern DRC she uses participatory research methods to understand the lived experiences of those affected by structural violence and explores how survivors navigate complex ecosystems of Transitional Justice mechanisms.
Before joining the Human Rights Centre, Kim was involved in various research projects in the field of Transitional Justice, more specifically on the right to and politics of reparations, at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (nscr) and at the Centre for Conflict Studies of the Philipps-University Marburg. She has been engaged in research in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guatemala, Guinea, Ecuador, and Iraq.
