The application of fair trial guarantees in the context of the detention of migrants in return procedure

Suggested by and with cosupervision from PICUM, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants. The thesis would look at the different procedural rights which should be implemented during the adoption of an immigration detention decision (i.e. right to information, to legal counsel, to judicial overview, to challenge the lawfulness of detention) as well as the relevant jurisprudence from the CJEU, ECtHR and (selected) national courts.

Gemotiveerde studenten sturen een mail met korte motivatie inzake het doen van een masterproef in het migratierecht, mbt een voorgesteld onderwerp of eigen onderwerp. Het volgen van vakken binnen het migratierecht wordt

ten sterkste aangeraden. Op basis van de mails worden studenten uitgenodigd voor een persoonlijk gesprek, waarin de motivatie verder toegelicht kan worden, en het onderwerp desgevallend verder afgebakend
