Nele Schuldt started her PhD journey at the University of Ghent in November 2020. Appointed as a FWO fellow, her research focuses on Evidence in Human Rights Litigation related to Climate Change and Environmental Claims, carried out under the supervision of Professor Marie- Bénédicte Dembour.
She will combine a classical doctrinal legal analysis of the relevant evidentiary regimes with an in-depth socio-legal investigation of the way evidence has played out in carefully selected emblematic cases. Her work will benefit from, and cross-fertilise, the larger ERC-funded project “DISSECT: Evidence in International Human Rights Adjudication.”
