Claire Poppelwell-Scevak's Bio

Claire Poppelwell-Scevak is a PhD Research Fellow with a scholarship of the FWO (Research Foundation-Flanders).

Claire Poppelwell-Scevak received her double bachelors in Law and International Studies at Macquarie University, Australia in 2013. She was admitted as a solicitor to the Roll of Solicitors in New South Wales in February 2014. Claire has an LLM (completed in 2016) from Oslo University with a focus on Public International Law and LGBTQI rights.

In 2017, Claire began her PhD at the Human Rights Centre under the supervision of Professor Eva Brems and Dr Laurens Lavrysen on same-sex marriage in the European Court of Human Rights.
